ABOUT
J A Film Tools was started by longtime friends Alessandro and Joe in 2020. Their goal was to look at the current state of equipment available to technicians in the entertainment industry and determine what additions and reductions could be made to create more versatile tools. Alessandro is a Gaffer/Grip operating in the East Coast US and LA, and Joe is a Machinist/Engineer with experience working on just about every tool and device known to man. All of our labor and resources come from the USA.

I've been Gaffing and Gripping since 2015, I've had good opportunity in my career so far to observe a lot of sets with diverse requirements for equipment. With that in mind I think we can make products that fill those niche and general voids.

Trained by veteran machinists, I have been engineering and developing all manner of tools since 2015. When I learned of the various types of spatial and practical problems that Grips and Gaffers face I became interested in tackling them with my skillset.
